Glucosamine is an amino sugar generally found in the human body that is synthesized internally and being a small molecule it is easily absorbed by the blood stream. Found naturally in the human body or prepared synthetically in a laboratory, it is a special form of sugar. Located in the joint cartilages, it contains both sugar and protein and the amount found reduces as we age and creates pain in the joints.
